The Bad Guy

It’s Democratic Convention time! And where am I? Exactly where I should not be if I ever wanted to cover this thing properly: DC. Continue reading

The Sound Of The World’s Tiniest Violin. (video here)

I know it’s all entertainment. I know most of the scandals are at least partially staged, but there’s a part of me that loves watching reports like this. Through every controversy they have been there, firing back and impugning the patriotism and credibility of all those who dare question the president. Through all the reports that the President may not have the best interests of the American people at heart all the time, they remained unmoved and faithful to Bush. They were cheerleaders, attack dogs, verbal Praetorians, enforcers, and propagandists influenced by wrestling shows.

Sean Hannity Forgets To Do His Job (with video)

I understand, I really, really do. Sometimes a person just doesn’t want to do their job. After a wonderful weekend spent with family and friends, going back to the daily routine can seem disheartening. After a week in Hawaii and Memorial Day weekend I could tell that Sean just was not into being at work today.

Do you convert VHS to DVD?

First off, I’d like to apologize for taking the day off yesterday. My new job doesn’t give me the free time to blog like my old one did. Not that I’m complaining. I love this new job and could care less about ever dealing with my old employer ever again (unless they screw up my final check and decide to not fork over my 130 hours of vacation time they owe me…Then it’s on).

Anyway, I returned home, watched Hannity & Colmes, and that old euphoric feeling swept over me again. That feeling where I know EXACTLY what my next entry is going to be about. This is advice for anyone wanting to convert home movies on VHS or any video cassette format to a digital medium. That advice is:

Ann Coulter on O’Reilly (4/27/07)

“I’d rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not.” – Rudy Ray Moore

Ann Coulter is an amazingly easy target, which is why I don’t talk about her much. It’s always the same scenario: Coulter says something wildly callous, cruel or factually wrong, the media goes nuts either condemning or defending her, she tells everyone it was a “joke”, and then we all get bored and wait for the next bat-shit crazy thing she spouts. At this point I do not find myself shocked or enraged by her and have no urge to write angry missives denouncing her. In fact, I’ve come to terms with the woman and her antics in a very “Circle Of Life” kind of way. It is her job to make broad, sweeping, ignorant statements. It is her job to perpetuate the myth of the “Left v. Right” paradigm. It is her job to be the rodeo clown for her side, so why get mad at her for it?

Don Imus

First off, I’ve never been a fan of Don Imus so I do not feel any loss or surprise over him being suspended by NBC and CBS. I also am not surprised by the kind of coverage this story has gotten on the various cables news networks. I will, however respond. Continue reading

This Week On O’Reilly (yes…with video)

Bill O’Reilly is not the most likable guy on television, but that’s not why I watch him. Much like Wally George or Morton Downey, jr. (Who Bill had the balls to liken Rosie O’Donnell to this week), Bill O’Reilly makes his money being the champion of ignorant blowhards across the country. And like all those who came before him, he does it well; though unlike George or Downey, O’Reilly is taken much more seriously.

Dennis Miller on O’Reilly (3/28/07)

It’s no secret that I’ve not been into Dennis Miller recently. It’s also no secret that I have not been that nice about it. But I’m getting the impression that he may be coming back to us. No, he’s not moving his act towards the center, but he may be getting funnier again.

I have to admit that I was amused when Miller appeared on the Daily Show last night. I don’t know what happened, but he seemed to be having fun again. I may not have been belly-laughing, but I was astonished that he had new material, that he seemed crisp and ready to play off Jon Stewart. It was a glimpse of the man I made time watch on HBO and SNL all those years ago.

Rocky Anderson lives up to his name (now with VIDEO).

I do not know much about Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson, but I have to give the man some respect at this moment. You see, he was just on “the O’Reilly Factor” and he more than held his own against Bill.

Video of the Hannity / Euteneuer squabble:

Here is a video of the exchange between Sean Hannity and Rev. Thomas Euteneuer.  If you recall, I wrote about this last week.
