DNC

It’s Democratic Convention time! And where am I? Exactly where I should not be if I ever wanted to cover this thing properly: DC.

Hell, it seems as though EVERYONE got to go to the Denver convention but me. Even the servers at the Palm restaurant in DC got sent to Colorado to work during the convention, and the selection of escorts on the Colorado Eros guide has grown from a paltry 20 last week to 80 today.  Everyone is going to Denver. But not me. I’m sitting in my DC condo in front of the TV, writing from here.

Not like I expected to get any kind of golden ticket, I’ve been out of circulation for the better part of the last year, so I have to start my whole deal over again. A year is a long time to slack off. Of course it wasn’t all laziness. My father died back in June of ‘07 and I had a lot to deal with after that. But I’ll cover that subject another day.

Today, and this whole week, is all about the DNC.

So what do I have to offer? Nothing too terribly different, I just have a lot of time on my hands, so I’ll be offering my two-cents whether they are needed or not.

One thing I can promise is that I won’t be doing anything like this:

Not that if I had been in the same position as that Fox News guy I would have come off any better. All I know is that I would have acted like another kind of fool entirely.  I wouldn’t have been a parody of a Fox reporter, I would have just been some moron trying to get suspicious protesters to talk to the MSM. I don’t do well in front of cameras, and that situation is a loser for just about anyone.

In any case, I will be writing quite a bit this week, and hopefully I’ll have something at least amusing to share.
